Well a merry - if a little naughty foodwise - Xmas was had at teamBBS HQ, I finally got to see 'Cars' and it has to said that it's an awesome film, really enjoyable - even Nic liked it and she hates cars in real life! Also got me an HP iPaq 6340, and due to sign al constraints I may be switching to the Vodafone network soon to maximise the iPaq's functions - and so that I can actually be contacted! I'm havin g problems hooking it up to my wireless network, but when I can be arsed to do it properly instead of just fucking about with it, I'm sure it'll work perfect!
I'm part of F1 Racing's Reader Panel, and I've been randomly selected to explain my answer to last months question for possible inclusion in February's edition of the Mag, however I can't remember how I answered! Nevermind, I've got until tomorrow to reply, so I'll think about it again and answer as I feel now, and hopefully that will be good enough!
Well on the 3rd January 2007 (ie. four days) Celebrity Big Brother will come screaming onto our screens on Channel 4 and E4, so the 'blog will be starting up again in the next few days. Unfortunately, I will be the only one contributing (if any of the team members want to post, you'll have to move to the new blogger) as Christine is in the US at the moment and the rest of the team are too damn lazy to write anything! Lots of rumoured names and I ain't discussing that here - check out Digitalspy for the latest names....

Xmas Dilemma!
Well I think I've been doing well with this healthier eating lark, of course I won't know exactly how to eat with regard to the diabetes until I've been to the clinic on wednesday - most of the food I've been advised to cut out is because of my high blood pressure - but I'm trying to be good!
The Xmas Dilemma of which this post is named after is to do with what I get for Xmas from my Mum and Sister, I asked for a few DVDs and a little radio controlled Helicoptor, I also put a Nintendo Wii on the list but at £179.99 this, I thought, would be far too expensive. But as I've got a little cash stashed away (well, about £100) I've been looking at getting a new phone, as I still can't send or receive picture messages due to using a Fresh Mobile SIM in an Orange phone.
So I've been looking for a cheap SIM free phone, and yet again my eye turns to Pocket PC phones (such as this), as they start at about £100 on eBay for a 'nearly new' example - £100 isn't cheap, some of you are screaming, but it is for a PPC I retort - anyway, I'm looking at a few and the ones I like are going for a little out of my price range (ie. double!) so I'm being a bit loud and miserable. "Hang on a minute" says my sister, and leaves the room. Upon returning she has this to say

Mum and I were going to get you a Wii for Xmas, but we can't get one, we are willing to get you one of them phones. So would you rather wait for a Wii, or get a Pocket PC Phone? So that, after rambling on for far too long, is the dilemma! Do I get a PPC with phone capability (that I have wanted for years) or do I hold out for a Nintendo Wii (that I was likely to buy myself eventually anyway)?

Fucking Doctors!
Well, yesterday I was a healthy, if slightly overweight, man with high blood pressure. Today I am a diabetic, with high blood pressure and high triglycerides!
Thankfully it's only type 2 diabetes that can be controlled by changing my diet, which will also help my blood pressure, triglycerides and my weight.
No more Dr. Pepper, no more pies, no more chips, no more burgers, no more steak, no more chocolate, no more crisps, no more bacon, no more sausages and no more anything that tastes good! Oh, and I have to cut down on my alcohol intake too!

Rock N' Roll!
So Sunday just gone myself and Nicola went to see Status Quo play the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, and what a night, much better than in July - although I thoroughly enjoyed that gig too, this one had more going for it. Whether it was cos it was a standing gig, or because the venue was a lot smaller or purely for the return of Forty Five Hundred Times, I don't know, but I loved it! Didn't mind the mile or so walk to the venue either - even in the pissing rain! Support band were good too.
So onto last night, it was Nic's Xmas do at work so I gave her a lift to Swansea, and whilst waiting for the call to go and pick her up again, I watched Ghost Hunting with Girls Aloud on ITV2, pure genius TV! I'm a sceptic, but ghosts and stuff do tend to freak me out a bit, but last night I laughed so hard a little pee came out - purely because it was so funny watching the Girls getting so scared!!

Hmm, Could Still Do With A Beer
Well the lads managed to get it back to 2-2, but when you consider Stevenage only had two players sent off, you can't help but feel disappointed!

November Rain
Why won't it stop fucking raining?! Every damn day since I got back from visiting Gemma (13th November) it's rained, it's really starting to piss me off!
Although, to be fair, it has given me the time to play Need For Speed Carbon on Xbox 360. Not the hardest or best of games by a long way, but it's enough to keep you entertained if you don't want to think too much (we all know what I get like if I think too much!), I've completed the Career mode, but have to do it again three more times to get some of the Achievements - not sure I can be arsed!
Now, when I do tend to think too much and I'm near a computer with no one else around, I have another 'blog elsewhere where I put my deepest thoughts. It's a bit empty to be honest, but there is one thing I'd like to say here. Most people have experienced wanting something so much it hurts, especially if they can't have it, but have many people experienced the feeling of wanting something so much it doesn't hurt that you can't have it? A strange one, it would be interesting to know if anyone actually understands the meaning of that. Well, obviously some people will, but not many of the current 'Gimme gimme gimme' generations that seem to plague this Earth.
Still, enough of that, I should get back to looking for a job I suppose...

Leo Live!
I've added a webcam feed to the site, it takes a pic every five minutes but won't be active 24 hours a day, just when the PC is on!
It is mainly a boring pic of my garden as the other people in the house "don't like the camera pointing at me" even when it isn't!

Bathurst 1000 Conclusion
Jason Richards caused the Safety Car with ten laps to go with steering problems, his team sent him back out, and he went into the wall with only two laps to go - Race Control said race on with local yellows!!
But at the end, Rick Kelly just didn't have enough to take the win. Craig Lowndes takes the chequered flag after seven hours of racing!
See you next year, I'm off for a nap!
RIP Peter Brock

SAFETY CAR!!!!
This is going to close up the field, and with only ten laps left it's set us up for a great finish! Kelly was six seconds behind Lowndes and now there's nothing. Of course, it means that everyone else gets back into it - and when you consider they were all at least 30 seconds back, it's gonna be so exciting!
Waiting for the Green Flag...............
Waiting for the Green Flag...............
14 LapsTo Go
And we're still under green! Lowndes in the 888 Ford has pulled out quite a lead, but he is being caught by Rick Kelly in the Holden - I don't think there's enough time now though.
Tiredness Is Trying To Capture Me
We are a maximum of two hours away from the end of this race, and I'm needing to keep the laptop in my lap or I will fall asleep, it's almost happened a few times now.
The final round of pit stops has just started, and we still seem to be under green flag conditions - that must be over ten laps by now!!!
Still a battle between the 888 Ford, and the Kelly Brothers in a Holden, obviously I'm cheering for the Holden as my resentment of Ford permeates into motorsport, plus the Holden Commodore is reminiscent of the Vauxhall Omega and I loved my Omega - even if it did only have a 2.5 V6 as opposed to the Australian car's 5.0 V8!

Stunned!
The number 7 car, driven by Dumbrell, was in the pits having an oil leak fixed when Mark Marshall spun out to bring the safety car out once again. The bit that stunned me was that they released Dumbrell and he was driving down the pitlane, when out of nowhere the Safety Car pulled out and almost rammed him in pitlane! As soon as they got out onto the cicuit, the Safety Car Driver waved him passed - why didn't the Safety Car just wait until Dumbrell had left the pitlane BEFORE trying to get out on the circuit?
So much for being a Saftey Car!
So much for being a Saftey Car!
Big Hit!
McConville has just destroyed the right hand side of his car to bring out the 8th Safety Car period of the race!!
The Australian Commentators keep mentioning the F1 race in Japan - I hope they don't spoil it for me once it gets underway!
We don't seem to be getting much racing today, it just seems to be a few racing laps, then a caution, a few racing laps, then a caution!
Still, it's different I suppose!
By the way, Paul Radisich - who had to be cut out of his car earlier - is in a serious but stable condition.

Back Behind The Safety Car!
Yep, we had nearly ten laps of green flag racing, but then we had a spinner in turn 4 - who said a naughty word live on TV!
We've had so many yellow flag laps that the Race Director is apparently concerned about the amount of fuel left in the Chrsler 300C Safety Car!
There's about 60 laps, or three hours, left to run - whichever comes first!

He's Out!
Paul Radisich has just been removed from his car and is being taken away by ambulance, over twenty minutes since he hit the wall, they had to cut the roof off of his race car - which they are now removing from the side of the track before we go back to green flag conditions.
We've just reached half distance - hopefully it won't take as long to do the last 80 lapsas it took us to get to lap 80!

Three Hours Gone
We are under the sixth safety car period, as former BTCC Racer Paul Radisich has run out of road and piled head on at speed into a tyre wall, the car went pretty much through the tryes and rode up the armco finishing up on it's side. They are not showing us any more pics of the New Zealander's car, but the reports say that he is talking to the marshalls, but he is stuck in the car. we could be behind the safety car for a while , until Radisich is safely out of his Ford Falcon.
We have yet to reach half distance!

Quarter Race Distance
Roughly, we're on lap 40 of 161, and have already had three safety car periods. Not as exciting as last year's race so far, but still enjoyable!
If I continue with the plan to watch the entire race live, I'll miss the Japanese GP and I'm not sure I want to do that! I suppose that this is one of the great races of the year and I should follow it to it's conclusion, afterall I'll be watching the DVD of the full ITV live coverage - recorded by me for my own personal use from Sky Digital - from about midday with my Dad anyway, so as long as I can keep from hearing the result, it should be ok!

2006 Bathurst 1000 is Go!!
After only the first couple of corners we're under caution! Mark Skaife into the wall after being hit from behind whilst cruising back to the pits withan apparent clutch problem. The car that hit him - driven by Jack Perkins - is driving back to the pits with a huge flame coming from the dragging front left wheel!
Only 159 laps and about six more hours to go!

Time is ticking.......
So after a hugely disappointing display by the England 'Football' Team, I'm sat here drinking Stella Artois waiting for 10pm and the start of the Bathurst 1000 coverage on MotorsTV - I may be very tired tomorrow!

A Day of Rest
I got up at 5:50 this morning so I could watch the Chinese Grand Prix live on ITV1, and after that finished, went back to bed for a quick nap before getting up again at 12:50, so I could start the DVD recording the A1GP Netherlands GP so I could watch the F1 re-run with my Dad, before the final round of the British Superbike Championship. As I sit here watching the F1 re-run, I feel glad that I got up early as ITV have butchered the coverage that was shown this morning. I'll probably be watching the A1 GP race this evening, so expect Compton GP to be updated as and when I get around to it, and hopefully I'll understand the qualifying method by then!!
I have a problem next weekend though, as I tend to watch all of the F1 races live and next week it's the Japanese GP, and the coverage starts at 5am - but it's also the Bathurst 1000 on motorsTV. The Bathurst coverage starts at 10pm Saturday night, and doesn't finish until 8am Sunday morning! It's always an action packed race, so I don't want to miss it. What I'm going to have to do is record the F1 (which I do every race anyway), and watch it after the Bathusrt 1000, even though it makes me feel a little dirty as I don't like to watch F1 after the event.

Bollocks
Whilst trying to transfer CPT-F1 onto the L33CPT server I've managed to fuck up somewhere, and even though I've made sure that the FTP settings are correct, it keeps having an authentication error, so it will be offline until I can sort it out!
edit@12:30 Sorted it, just click on Compton GP in the side bar.
CPT F1 is also changing to Compton Grand Prix, mainly due to the fact that I had started to cover the GP2 series, so I though F1 was a bit of a misnomer, I'll also start to cover the A1 GP series (as I now have Sky Sports!) and the MotoGP bike races, but don't expect me to be as anal and enthusiatic about those as I am on F1!
I'm currently signed off work as my knee has gone from bad to worse, and have been spending my life on Yahoo! Answers, try it but don't be surprised if you get pissed off with all of the twats on there that just throw abuse about, or chose a 'best answer' that has no relevence to facts!

Good(?) Evening
Who saw Hollyoaks on Friday?! WOW! Hollyoaks is one of my guilty pleasures, and friday night's double header was without doubt some of the best TV for a long time.
I watched Hollyoaks down in Oxford where I had a really cool weekend and fulfilled a dream that I have had since I was 8 years old - I got to ride in a 1971 VW Beetle Karman Cabriolet, I was so excited that for the entire journey I was bouncing and giggling in my seat! Here is conclusive proof that Hitler is not the only person to have ever looked good in the back of a four seat convertible!

Unfortunately, upon my return to Sunny Trimsaran I learnt that my new job is to come to end. I started work there in late July after nine months of unemployment, and on Monday evening it was announced by the Area Manager that the store will be closing on October 7th and we are all being made redundant on October 13th.
Great.

Evening All
Well, Leo's finances are up against the wall, he may even give up work if he can't sort something out soon - he refuses to work when he won't see any of the money for over three months. Tomorrow may be D-day.
Oxford Utd got off to a winning start in their campaign to get back into the Football League yesterday by beating Halifax Town 2-0 at the Home of Oxford Utd. Next game is Tuesday night - away to Dagenham & Redbridge - let's hope for more of the same!
Finally got to see my first NASCAR race on a Road Course - you know, a proper circuit with left and right turns - last night, it was cool, but a bit strange seeing the cars set up with such a soft suspension, they were wallowing all over the place! Still good racing though, they should do it more often.
Well today, Dad's in Bed, and both Mum and Nicola are at work, so I'll be watching the BTCC meeting from Snetterton on Motors TV all day - wicked!
So fucking tired.....
Oh, just to let anyone know who actually reads this - or sends me emails - that unless I can sort my finances L33CPT.co.uk will not be renewed at the end of September, so prepare for change.

Workaholic
Well as my email obviously didn't make it through, I'll have to update you all the old fashioned way!
I started my new job on monday, only 16 hours a week, but that's fine for me - 16 hours of hard graft is more than enough! I've been taking the coastal road to and from work too, so that helps - driving alongside the sea is very relaxing!
Chewie decided to try and remove one of my eyes the other night, I grabbed him to give him a cuddle, as I pulled him back he started to struggle and flapped his paws about the place, swiping my face in the process, only noticed the blood when I was blinded by it pouring into my left eye! It's all good though.
I've decided to get a motorbike licence soon, ie. when funds allow, but I've also decided that it might be cool to get a racing licence too, and I want to save up for a couple of cars (weekend toy and daily drive), so I think I may need a better paying job with more hours!
Anyhoo, here's a pic of me from my innocent youth....

...I'm thinking it was taken on Xmas Eve 1997 - due to the Spice Girls Lunchbox - so that would have made me 20, oh for the days of having hair and being skinny......!

Rock N' Roll Music
Status Quo was pretty good last night, Nic and I were part of the lucky ones that weren't totally fucked over by the Promoter/Ticketmaster, they changed the venue of the gig about two months before it, and we almost didn't get our tickets in time for the gig cos of a Ticketmaster cock up, however, we got our tickets and they were spot on (centre block, thirteen rows from the stage). Some people had problems though, the International Arena has temporary seating (which we'll come back to later) in blocks that are made up of rows of twenty seats, however, the Promoter/Ticketmaster sold up to thirty seats per row - lots of problems ensued and a lot of unhappy punters. The temporary seating was not fixed to the floor, it was silly little metal frame folding seats on a wooden floor, so they slid and tilted if you lent on them too much. I know of at least two incidents where people were hurt because of the seats.

Anyway, onto the gig, and another mixed reaction from me! They were awesome, it's the first time that I've been to see them since 2001 and the Drummer was new at that point and not really up to speed, but last night they were absolutely brilliant, now he's settled in he's brought a whole new dimension to the way they play, they've always been loud, but they were fucking heavy last night too, when they played 'Creepin' Up On You' - which on the album was an ok track - it totally blew me away, the Keyboard/pianist came out from behind his set up. picked up a guitar and it was crushing! The bad point is that they dropped my favourite song from the Set list! It's bad enough that because I've only been going to see them since 1991 I've never heard the full version at a gig - they've stripped it down from 20mins or so to 5mins - but now they don't play it at all! In fact they chopped about 20 minutes off of the usual gig length last night, so it was over a bit too quickly for me, but when you take into account Rick's health problems at the start of the year and that Francis and Rick are gonna be 60 next year I can understand why!!!

The train back to Swansea was late too, so the gig finished by half ten, the train not getting into Cardiff until nearly midnight (we did have a laugh on the platform though!), plus the drive from Swansea station back home, we got in just before two, so was a bit tired this morning!

Thunder!
I'm sure I just heard a faint rumble a minute ago, if it does come to a storm, it'll be our third in 24 hours! Even though at one point last night it was just constant rumbling for about twenty minutes (and I mean constant, before one clap ended the next had already begun!), and it kept up all night, and then we had a smaller one - but with torrential rain - this afternoon, it's still so damn close.
I actually managed to bugger up my phone last night by trying to video the lightning! It has now dried out and is working again, so I'm happy!
So yes please, more thunder and lightning - but we'd like to keep our electricity on tonight please!

It's Been A While....
Well, since I was last here I've become a year older, but not much else has happened!
England were knocked out of the World Cup last night by Portugal, and as a man of my word, this is what has happened to me this morning.....
From this...

And I ain't happy about it, I hate not having a beard, I'm too fat and bald to not have some form of hair on my chin! Rest assured, I will have another beard within two weeks!
Chewie wasn't happy either, after I'd used the clippers to get the bulk of the beard off I sat and watched the end of the MotoGP 250cc race and he came round the corner and didn't recognise me, he went mental barking and growling, so I gave him my hand to sniff and he realised it was me and gave me a big kiss! He's so sweet!
England were knocked out of the World Cup last night by Portugal, and as a man of my word, this is what has happened to me this morning.....

And So....
With my 150th post on this 'Blog I bid you Goodnight, so that I can go to sleep for the first time in 39 hours.
Woo Hoo!
Woo Hoo!

Well, guess what? I'm knackered! Had a little nap during the football earlier, but my God do I feel rough!
A big well done to Audi on an historic win in Le Mans - the first ever Tractor to win the 24 Hour Race!

Still here!
Yep, I never went to sleep!
I'm having a second wave of awakeness!
The race is awesome, really liking the non stop coverage, hoping we get the same next year when I won't have to stop watching the race when the football comes on!
Should catch the last 10 minutes or so of the race - hopefully!

Fighting a Losing Battle
I'm not sure I can go on.
I'm so close to dropping off.
Only ten hours left.
I might just go to sleep.
Arse, I'll try again next year.......

Morning has Broken.....
Well almost, it's certainly been getting lighter for quite a while now!
Twelve and a half hours into the 24 hours of Le Mans, the number 8 Audi still out in front, and as I type this the second placed Pescarolo has been taken into the garage! It's surprising how much action there is in a 24 hour race!
The cameramen seem to be bored as they are experimenting with funny angles and putting goggles in front of the lenses!

It's A Bit Tricky...
... to stay awake, but I'm still here watching Le Mans!
The lead Audi R10 has just made a pit stop and they dismantled and rebuilt it's gearbox (and as much of the rear end as they needed) in less than ten minutes! Amazing!
I got me a mention on Motors TV!
Anyway, they're coming back from adverts now so I'm off!

Motors TV is Wicked!
But I won't last the weekend! I'm attempting to stay up all night to watch the "24 Heures du Mans" on Motors TV - if only the World Cup wasn't getting in the way! Tomorrow will be even worse, I was hoping to watch the entire 24 hours of Le Mans, but the World Cup has intervened (still only missed one match so far), and tomorrow the MotoGP is on in Spain too!

World Cup Fever!
Well so far I have only missed one game of the World Cup, Italy v Ghana, and I'm certainly hoping for a better performance from England this afternoon, but as long as they win, I guess the performance is secondary at the moment.
Nevertheless I have the beers in the fridge, the shirt on and the flags flying high - even Peggy is wearing an England shirt!
Other than the World Cup, I've dismantled Mum's greenhouse - with a little help from Mum and Nic - and thrown Peggy and Chewy into Nic's new swimming pool thing!

Hi
Well, I'm currently watching Big Brother, and this year I'm not impressed, especially with how the two Welsh contestants are allowed to talk about the English. But I won't go into that because English people aren't allowed to comment on people from other Nations in the same way that they are all allowed to comment on us.

I'm having a few days off from my computer, as it's starting to bore me, not that that will make much difference except to the BB'Blog, but I'll put any lack of posts on that while I'm 'away' down to the other four people that are a part of the team that so far haven't bothered with it.

Breakthough!
I was trying to figure out what to do until Top Gear comes on at 9:20pm, when I realised that the reason it was on so late is because of Match of the Day Wales, so I have a brain wave and chuck the Sky Box onto channel 989 which is BBC2 England - lo and behold Top Gear is on at 8pm in England as usual!
Still ain't watching BB though, Sunday has a routine

Lazy Days
Wow, what a day! Got up just after 9am and put the TV onto the preview of the MotoGP races at Le Mans, then watched the 125cc race with Dad when he got up. after that Dad wanted to watch the wrestling so I moved into the kitchen and watched the morning warm up for the World Touring Car Championship whilst eating a lovely Bacon and egg sandwich. After that there was nothing on, so I went upstairs to play on my original Xbox (only one 'challenge' left to complete NFS Most Wanted 100%), until it was 1245 and time for Motors TV's live coverage of the DTM, as soon as they crossed the finish line in that we flicked over to British Eurosport to catch the live WTCC races at Brands Hatch. Unfortunately after Andy Priaulx threw away the second race - Alain Menu scoring Chevrolet's first ever WTCC win - we flicked to ITV1 for the British Superbikes, only for that to have been cancelled due to the rain - Pussies!
So now I'm sat here watching the Simpsons typing this up.
Don't expect a BB'Blog update today as I haven't watched any today, and the main show at 9pm conflicts with Top Gear which has been pushed back to 9:20pm - and Top Gear will always win that fight! Anyway, I'll catch the repeat tomorrow on E4 and update then, maybe, I haven't really got into it yet.

Shit!
Still feeling rough, woke up yesterday morning with blood everywhere, turns out I had a nose bleed whilst I was asleep, nice, also I can't sleep unless I tkae a dose of Night Nurse before I go to bed. So I stayed in bed most of yesterday, not getting up until about 1600hrs to get myself some lunch.
I don't seem to be able to eat much at the moment, I certainly can't manage to eat a whole dinner - not without shitting liquid about 25 minutes later anyway! I'm gonna try little and often today, see if that makes a difference!
If I don't get better soon, I may have to go to the Doctor's afterall.....

Health...
Well my ear seems a lot better this evening, it didn't this morning so I went back to bed straight after the qualifying for tomorrow's GP, which is why I haven't bothered commenting on this on CPT F1, I will, however be commenting on the race tomorrow afternoon.
The Question I face tonight is should I get up at 5am to watch the MotoGP live from China, or should I just get up at nine to watch the live GP2 race and watch the repeated MotoGP after that? I think we all know the answer - if it was F1 I would get up, but I won't for bikes!
I'm sat here in the Kitchen, watching 'Big Brother's Top 20 Housemates' in preparation for this coming thursday and the launch of Big Brother 7, and have just been reminded of how much I hated Lesley! Still not sure if I'll be watching it for long this time around, it's normally the Floopster that encourages me and keeps me interested. Keep up to date with the BB'Blog.
I've also given my Xbox360 a voice, go here
Well I'm off to make myself a banana sandwich, goodnight.

Doctor Doctor...
Will I have to go to the Doctor's for the first time since 2001? Seems likely, my right ear is totally fucked, has been funny for a while and a lot of ear wax has been coming out on occasion, so I chucked some Earex in there yesterday. All evening I was in quite considerable pain, and the feeling of pressure inside my ear was almost unbearable. The pain has gone, the feeling of pressure is still there, but not anywhere near as bad. I'm gonna give it until monday morning, and if it's still not right I'll have to do something I don't want to - go and see the Doctor......
The Big Brother 'Blog is back!
Yuji Ide has had his Super Licence revoked by the FIA, a disgrace if you ask me, but I'll be writing more on this subject soon on CPT F1

Happy Anniversary!
Kind of, it's just over a year since I started this 'blog, and going back to that time I was gutted that Oxford had finished the season in the usual way, managerless, and releasing players. This year I'm gutted 'cos we got relegated to the Conference. I think that's all I really want to say about that.
I've started a 'blog on F1, it ain't great, but I need somewhere special to rant about that subject! Link is in the side bar.
Big Brother is about to start again, and the local rag has a front page story that a local 'Beauty Queen' has been picked to enter the house. Imogen Thomas, 24, is a Former 'Miss Wales' and is in exile ahead of the series launch. Good Luck to her!

I'm Back Baby!
After a brief hiatus, I am back online and raring to go!
So I went to the game on April 8th. Sat in the South Stand Upper as it was recommended to me for the superior view of the pitch, which it has, but what use is a superior view if it is of shit Football?! Yes, I left that match very depressed, and yet the following week at a match I was also planning on going to, Oxford played a blinder and beat Barnet 2-0. Guess what? I didn't go.
Last night I got majorly depressed also, when Torquay thrashed Stockport 4-0. Torquay are now only below us on goal difference. Oxford Utd are 1 goal above relegation at the moment. I had a wave of negativity wash over me last night, and as much as I want to, I can't shake it off. I hope I'm wrong.........
One thing that is helping my mood is the fourth season of Family Guy, not yet broadcast in the UK, it was released on DVD on Monday, and I bought it. Funny is not the word, it's hilarious! Watch it - NOW!

Formula 1
Excellent, action packed race in Australia yesterday, although the Australian GP is normally a good one! Somewhat bemused by Honda's decision to retire Jenson Button metres from the finish line, apparently they are planning a victory in Imola and a ten place drop on the grid won't allow them to do that. Actually, I'd say the poor performance after pit stops and Caution periods is more likely to hinder their chances. Still, nice to see that they got the (misguided?) confidence to just throw away three World Championship points.
As for 2008, 22 teams have applied to enter the 2008 Championship but the FIA (in their infinite wisdom) have said that only twelve teams would be accepted, the successful applicants will be revealed on 31st April this year. Ron Dennis said something yesterday that I have been saying since the FIA announced that only twelve teams will be racing, reintroduce Pre-Qualifying. Any team that finished the previous season lower than tenth in the Constructor's Championship have to attend a Qualifying Session on the Thursday, the fastest ten cars go through to the GP. you then have thirty cars trying to Qualify for 24 or 26 Grid slots. It worked throughout the '80s.
I can't wait to see the Football next weekend, although I may be sitting by myself as my friends don't seem to be interested!

I Love Xbox360!
That is why I haven't been online recently - I've been playing Xbox360! Hooked up to Xbox Live now (as you can see from my Gamertag at the foot of the page), and having great fun trying to thrash everyone (but failing so far) at PGR3 only managed to have one game of Full Auto on Live, but I won that by a country mile!
Going to the United Stadium a week tomorrow to savour the atmosphere of a rekindled Yellow Army, and I'll probably be there the week after too, can't really afford it but I haven't been enough this season so getting a quick fix!

Howdy
Watching the NASCAR Busch series race on Motors TV at the moment, there's been 8 cautions and the race was stopped for roughly an hour due to snow - and it's only lap 143 of 300! I'm also discussing race on the Motors TV forums and I got a name check from the Motors TV commentator whilst the Yanks were on their ad break - well happy!
Jim Smith has returned to OUFC along with Nick Merry - the new owner - and the new regime got off to a flying start today with a 1-0 win. Splendid.

I Got Me A Blister On Me Finger!
I should be preparing my room for the arrival of a 32" widescreen TV tomorrow, but I've decided to be an alcoholic and help myself to an early grave by getting drunk in front of the TV and PC.
Really gutted as just after I've blown a load of cash on an Xbox360, a long weekend in Oxford, paying a load of bills and lot's of crap, a non-turbo Nissan 300ZX comes up for sale on the owner's club website for £1600, with a full MOT, all it needs is the heater fixing. A guy on the OC called T Pot has provisionally bought it - and he only lives a few miles away, seen him in his TT loads of times.
Only problem with drinking is it gives me the munchies and I'm fat enough!
Peggy is still trying to hump Chewbacca at every opportunity but all he wants to do is bite her legs - just like Edd The Duck used to!
Oh, the blister! Built the stand for Mum and Dad's new TV today, and somehow got a blister!
Anyway, I'm off for a shit.

Lazy Days
I'm sat here next to Dad (on the Laptop again - really need one of my own!) watching the rerun of the Malaysian GP, I watched it live, but I always watch the F1 with Dad so for the races that take place in the early hours of the morning I watch them twice! I'm not gonna write about the race as Dad hasn't yet seen it and I don't want to spoil it for him.
I've not been well since wednesday, in fact I've been quite ill, nevermind. I had to miss Matthew's birthday piss up, which I'm pissed off about, but couldn't help.
I've changed some of the Recommended page, as my tastes have changed somewhat over the last few months.

Wireless Wonder!
Well I'm currently sat in the front room with my Mum's new Laptop wirelessly connected to the internet. Listening to Oxford Vs Bristol Rovers through earphones whilst Mum watches The Bill, Patto's first game in charge I don't think we're doing too bad, could do with a goal or two though!
Nicola has drawn up a plan for rearranging teamBBS HQ, just gotta buy some furniture and get a job now! Any offers?
Popped over to Banbury on Sunday to see Krisse and Sanjie, who have a lovely house that was thankfully easy to find! Thanks again for the chocolate cake!
The first GP of the Season took place on Sunday, the new qualifying format was mainly a success but I feel that the third session should be low fuel too - watching F1 cars cruising for fifteen minutes before blasting around the track once or twice is not particularly entertaining! Excellent performance by Nico Rosberg, with the exception of the first corner! Just hope he, and Williams, can keep it up.
We had to get Peggy some special pants today, they have a slot for fanny pads as she's on heat, she looks so sweet!

Happy Birthday Gemma!
Tomorrow afternoon I shall be driving east on the M4 to join my old friends in Oxfordshire for a few days.
Unfortunately Oxford Utd are away on Saturday, and I won't drive to Stockport after a night on the piss on Friday! They are at home on Wednesday, but that might be overstaying my welcome!
It's a beautiful rainy day today in 'Sunny' South Wales, and I nearly killed myself walking down to the Post Office and back earlier! Half a mile each way, only on the way back it's all uphill, and I'm not the fittest of people, so I was extremely out of breath and my back was killing me! Tomorrow, I shall drive it!
You may have noticed a few changes, I've cleaned up a bit by only having the latest post on the front page - you can still read any of the others but you have to go through the Archive. There's the latest headlines from This is United in the footer, This is something that the Official OUFC site should do, but they don't so TiU it is! I have also put my Xbox Live Gamertag in the footer, I am yet to take my Xbox360 online but when I move it upstairs it will be hooked up to the router and away I will go!

I'm a Happy Boy!
Ok, that might be an exaggeration, but it is pretty damn special! I was looking to buy a car, but when I got the email from GAME saying that the Premium pack - with 20gb hard drive, wireless controller, blah, blah, blah - was back in stock I had ordered one within twenty minutes!
Wondering if I can afford the 42" TV to play it on now............

Pancake Day!
Well it turns out that I'm quite the Pancake Chef! Well technically, Nicola did all of the ingredients part, I just did the mixing and the actual cooking of the batter. I also grated the chocolate for the topping of the first variety, and the chopping of the apple for the second type. You put the apple into the batter mix, with a teaspoon of Cinnamon - it's really nice!
Not been up to much, as usual, but tomorrow I have to wash Nicola's car as she's bought me ToCA Race Driver 3 for PS2 - I'm not allowed to have the game until I've washed the car!
I've moved the PC into the kitchen, the wireless router is a wonderful thing! Now I can watch Kerrang! and Scuzz whilst looking at porn - as long as Mum don't catch me!

McLaren Mercedes
pic from F1 Live
Am I the only person that thinks that a chrome finish livery, whilst looking very cool, is a safety issue?
You can imagine somewhere like Bahrain, the sun beating down on a McLaren Mercedes, with chrome being very reflective, is it not possible it will dazzle other drivers at speeds approaching 200mph potentially causing them to crash?
Just a thought...

Poo Bum!
It's quite cool having a Pup - even if he isn't housetrained and has just done an huge poo on the landing!
Got me (and Nic) a ticket to see the almighty Status Quo play Cardiff Castle in July - only about 13 rows from the front, centre stage. The last time they played this venue was in 1976, and the band have gone on record as saying it's the best gig they ever played - more of the same please lads!

I Should Be In London Right Now...
...Getting pissed for Christine's Birthday, but being pikey scum means that I have no cash to do that - but I have had a can of Stella in her honour!
Oxford United. I have given you twenty years of my life, and the top of my right arm. I can only hope and dream that you give me League Football next season.

Pics Now Online!
So I've taken inspiration from Krisse puuting his Wedding Photo's online, and put a load of pics up on Yahoo! Photo's. The first album contains the pictures from the weekend of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone last July, and the second is a collection of the cars I have on Gran Turismo 4. A bit boring maybe, but perhaps some slightly more interesting ones - for the masses - will be appearing soon!
Formula 1 2006
I'm watching a DVD of last years Brazilian GP, they're just on the warm up lap as I type this, and I guess it's just struck me how different it's going to be this year.
2.4 V8
No Jordan - becomes MF1
No Minardi - becomes Scuderia Toro Rosso
Honda Racing F1
Williams Cosworth
BMW Sauber
Red Bull Ferrari
Super Aguri Honda(?)
No Spa GP(?)
Several Driver/Personnel changes
Makes you wonder what's gonna happen this next season, could be a good 'un - can't wait!!!!!

Big Brother 7
Open auditions for BB7 are starting soon (I would go Wednesday 22nd February – Cardiff) , and although I said I wouldn't go for it this year cos of the World Cup, I'm still tempted! But also not sure cos of what it is becoming.
Opinions please!

Audi R8
So a little while ago, I was reading the MX5 Owner's Club forum and the unmistakable noise of a helicopter comes roaring into my room, I look out of the window and see the shape of a big helicopter flying about, very low! I couldn't make it out properly as the sun was right in my eyes, and knowing the area I assumed it was a Police Chopper as per usual, anyway, I was wrong, it was a bright red Air Ambulance that landed approx. 500m from the house, just out of sight cos of some trees. A few minutes later it takes of and flies off in the general direction of Llanelli!
Well that was a bit of excitement! If I find out why it was here, I'll let you know!

Formula GT
I'm a little less cynical than I was last time so don't expect any rants!
What with Alonso signing for McLaren for the 2007 F1 season, the question is now 'What of Kimi?' Has he really already signed for Ferrari - as per rumours from the middle of last season - will he stay at McLaren, or, as latest rumours suggest, is he talking to Toyota? Ron Dennis has been talking up JPM this last week, saying "I, and the whole system here, have a lot of time for Juan Pablo" (source: Rueters) seemingly stating that JPM is likely to be with them for a while, but he could also be making him look more attractive to other teams. After all, if McLaren-Mercedes have a lot of time for someone, they must be pretty good.

Happy New Year?
For some, yes. For others, unfortunately not.
The latest edition of Top Gear magazine popped through the letter box this afternoon (it's a very rare day that our post makes it in the morning), and I was getting all excited about reading the feature on the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide - a four-door DB9 - when I read Jeremy Hart's coloumn. The first proper tribute to Richard Burns that I have seen. It scared me mid-2005, when I suddenly realised that Richard Burns hadn't returned to the WRC in 2005 like I had expected and thought I wonder how he's doing? So I spent half a day trying to find something out, all I did find was a piece on his appearance at Castle Combe in August. A couple of months later, I read on BBC's Final Score that he'd passed on. He could, and should, have had many more years in Rallying, Ok the Peugoet years didn't work out for him, but he was headed back to Subaru when he became ill. My thoughts are still with his family and friends.
On a lighter, and slightly more selfish note, why is there a shortage of Xbox360 consoles?! I actually saw one on eBay on the launch date sell for £1200 - makes me wish I hadn't cancelled my preorder! One wonders how Microsoft can justify installing 1000 'Play Pods' in gaming stores across the UK, aswell as supplying them to the companies that are offering them as prizes, when they can't supply enough to meet demand?! Surely the paying customer should have priority? But then seeing as they apparently make a loss on each console, maybe they don't care that much.
SKYdigital = shit.
Why does the BBC bother with Top Gear? I think that the series that has just finished lasted for all of 7 episodes, one episode being pushed back a week cos of Snooker, and the final episode being pushed back cos of Xmas! The amount of money it must cost the BBC to make this excellent programme cannot surely mean that it's cost-effective?! But of course, the amount of money it must cost the BBC to make this excellent programme means that the series cannot last for more than about 7 weeks!
Bloody hell, I feel a bit better now!
Oh, and I spent all day yesterday, gutting my bedroom, throwing loads of stuff out, cleaning underneath my bed (even behind the chest of drawers) and yet I've still got too much shit! As soon as the Job Centre get off their arses and give me my money (they were supposed to phone me this morning, but haven't) I'll be putting lots more CD's on eBay - I want to get rid of about 200!

SKYdigital = shit.
