The Xmas Review

Me, Gemma and Christine at Krisse and Sanjie's Reception......

My first Xmas off for about 11 years and I quite enjoyed it, I got my new phone - Sanyo S750i - on the 23rd, and it's nice to be able to send picture messages again - although I've used nearly £10 credit since Xmas Eve!!!! Sold shitloads of stuff on eBay, made over £230, most of which came from the selling of my SonyEricsson W800i.

Got a Xmas card from some of the old Grocery Crew at ASDA through the post on Xmas Eve, that brought a smile to my face, thought it was a really nice thing for them to do.

Xmas day brought an huge grin to my face, finally got the first series of Futurama on DVD, a really cool magnetic Dart board and then opened the present that Santa got me - a Radio Controlled Dalek! Peggy does not like being chased around the kitchen by it!!!!!

Another thing I love about Xmas - Turkey for every meal! I love Turkey!

Take it easy, and have a Happy New Year, I shall update in 2006

MERRY XMAS!

Hi, my name is Leo, I'm unemployed pikey scum and it's been ten days since my last 'Blog entry.......

So the festive season is now upon us, and as a skint person, all I have to enjoy is my new phone, my camcorder, my Nintendo DS, SKYdigital, the internet, copious amounts of Stella Artois and whatever Santa brings me - I hope I've been a good boy this year!

You know what? Life ain't too bad, got a Xmas card off of some old work colleagues through the post today and that was a nice surprise, as was the letter I received from Abner - I really should write to him too.....

I wish anyone who reads this a glorious and prosperous 2006, I hope to see you soon x

Forty-Five Hundred Times...

...I told you, you can lean on me.

Rick Parfitt

Status Quo Rock, although not at the moment as the current UK tour has been cancelled after a growth was found on Rick Parfitt's throat, hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Last Saturday (10th) was Krisse and Sanjie's Wedding Reception, and it was a great night! Got up at 6am that morning to get the 7.09 train to Swansea, just missing the 7.30 Swansea to Paddington so caught the 8.30 instead. Got delayed just outside Bath, when a Train in front of us broke down, and then again at Reading cos the Platform wasn't ready! Got to Paddington, caught the underground to Waterloo, where I met up with two of my favourite ladies; Gemma and Christine.

We got to the reception just after five and had a great time. Got about 50mins of footage on the camcorder - most of which was Krisse's Dad!

The Ladies and I moved onto the Oceana club after the reception finished. BUGGER ME - £10 each to get in, and a bottle of Smirnoff Ice was £4.10! Anyway, did a bit of dancing, and a bit of drinking and made our way back to the Hotel, where Gemma and I chatted until 4am whilst Christine fell asleep almost as soon as she got into bed at 3am!

Sunday we left the Hotel at Noon, get some breakfast and chatted, before I decided it was time to head home. Got the 16.40 from Paddington to Swansea and the train was so full I had to stand for the first two and a half hours of the ride! That was because of a door fault on the first carriage, so they couldn't let us use it. Got into Swansea about 20.45 and got the 21.16 (which was late) back to Llanelli where Nicola picked me up.

A very tiring weekend, but totally worth it, it was great to finally meet Sanjie and to see everyone again, especially Christine as I haven't seen her for two years! It really cheered me up, it was exactly what I needed.

Mood Swings and Roundabouts

On Monday 28th November I recieved a 'phonecall from Carclo Technical Plastics Ltd, Wales offering me the position of Stores Person/Driver. I had been for two interviews for the position, and it was only mentioned at the second interview that I would be driving a 7.5tonne lorry to make deliveries, which they told me was covered on a normal Car licence. I accepted the job and was to start on Monday 5th December.

I did my own research about the licence and the (largely confusing) DVLA website suggested that I would need a C1 licence which I didn't have, so when I went to Carclo to drop off the acceptance letter they needed I brought up my concerns and was told that as I was over 21 I could drive the lorry on my car licence, but they took a photocopy of my licence to make sure and would call me if there were any problems.

No call came.

So on Monday 5th December at 0830hrs I arrived at Carclo ready for my induction, and was taken upstairs by the Personnel Manager whilst she got some paperwork. She returned and told me that they were retracting the job offer due to the fact that I didn't have a C1 driving licence.

Apparently they had contacted the DVLA and discovered if you pass your driving test before 1st January 1997 you automatically have a C1 licence, if you pass your test after that date, you don't.

I passed my test in February 1998.

They then had decided that due to my experience in Warehousing and Fork Lift Driving that they would take a chance and pay for me to get the C1 licence that was needed, the company they use for this doesn't have their own Lorry so I would learn in Carclo's Lorry. This is why they hadn't called, up until Friday 2nd December there wasn't any problems.

Unfortunately, on Friday 2nd December one of the Driver's had an accident on the M4 near Bridgend, no-one was hurt - only the Lorry I needed to get my licence.

So it came to be that yet again I am a victim of circumstance, and the decision was taken to retract the job offer.

I'm quite depressed.

Chevrolet SSR

Guess what popped through my letterbox this morning.... NINTENDOGS!

Great fun, I have two dogs, a Boxer called Dixie and a Shetland Sheepdog named Nigel. They're both fast asleep at the moment, but I've spent a lot of time today teaching them tricks and taking them for walks - you even have to clean up their shit after them!

We also have a new arrival in the real world too, A beautiful little Pug cross called Peggy. When I get a decent pic I'll share it with you.

I start my new job on Monday, and yes Krisse, part of it is driving a 7.5tonne wagon - I'm actually looking forward to it!
